MAKING THE WORLD GREENER THROUGH CHEMISTRY
Joris Blaak studied Chemistry at VHL University of Applied Sciences and recently graduated. He’s very enthusiastic about the study’s focus on the green possibilities with chemistry.
‘This study is as broad as the world around us. Chemical products are everywhere and they can all be improved. In my view this improvement could be realised by creating biodegradable products that are safer for us and our environment.’
‘This “green approach” is what sets this study apart from studies at other educational institutions. Chemistry itself is not particularly green, but the things you can do with it can be. I’ll take this way of thinking with me when I start my master Nanotechnology. How can I use it to make things better? is a question that is constantly on my mind. I see the same mentality in my fellow students.’
