SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AT HEINEKEN

The programme International Business and specialising in International Sustainability Management has definitely been the right choice for Feym Akdas and opened many doors for him. He got the chance to write his thesis and do his internship at Heineken within Global Sustainable Development in Zoeterwoude.

Abroad

'The overall experience has been great,' Feym says, 'and I learned a lot, professionally and personally as well'. In his thesis he was asked to give advice on the further development of Heineken's sustainability programme: Brewing a better World. In the six months Feym was there, he talked to all kinds of managers, farmers and suppliers. He also travelled and conducted research abroad.

Model

Based on his findings from field research, interviews with people and literature research, Feym came up with a model which can be used to engage more suppliers into the Brewing a better World programme.  

International

'International Business has taught me the necessary professional and people skills to conduct the assignment successfully. My supervisor at Heineken gave me all the necessary insights and tips to get started. I can strongly recommend the experience of working at an international company!'
