PROFESSORSHIP ANIMAL BEHAVIOUR, HEALTH AND WELFARE

The professorships of Animal behavirous, Health and Welfare has existed since 2003 and is part of the animal-related study programmes of VHL University of Applied Sciences: Animal Management and Animal Husbandry.

Our professorship consists of professor Hans Hopster and a research group with project engineers and lecturers from both study programmes. We try to connect everyone who is involved in animal welfare as well as possible. This means: people who do research on animal welfare, people who teach an animal-related study programme, companies focusing on animals, and of course the society, where there is an increasing concern for animal welfare. We focus on farm animals, companion and recreation animals, laboratory animals, pest animals and zoo animals.

Through this website we would like to keep you updated about the activities we organise, research projects we take part in or that students conduct for us, and the results of projects we participate in.
