VHL University of Applied Sciences enjoys working with companies; not only because this helps us to ensure our study programmes are closely related to the corresponding professional field, but also because we can offer study programmes that are interesting for working professionals.

Partnerships with companies and institutions
VHL participates in partnerships with educational institutions, centres of expertise and businesses. For example, different educational institutions work together at the Dairy Campus in Leeuwarden, including VHL and Wageningen University. This way, entrepreneurs and researchers cooperate on topics such as innovation, research and education. Moreover, we join forces with the Centre of Expertise Water Technology (CEW) in Leeuwarden in the field of water.
Diversity in our study programmes as well as in the professional field is of great importance to us. As a result, the campaign ‘Nature Fits All’ has been launched to draw attention to the opportunities available in the ‘green’ professions. This campaign has been developed together with Helicon, Staatsbosbeheer (‘Forestry Commission’), Natuurmonumenten (‘Natural Monuments’) and Bosschap (‘Forestry’).
Advisory Committees: education and businesses
Our lecturers are motivated to keep our study programmes up to date and to ensure that our students are well prepared for their future careers. Therefore, each program at VHL has an advisory committee consisting of experts from businesses, who carefully assess the curriculum. They evaluate whether the students meet the current demands of the industry. If you are interested in participating in an advisory committee, please contact us via
email@example.com Applying research at companies
By conducting applied research, our lecturers form a link between education and the industry, the government, institutions and other research partners. On the pages of the
research groups you can find information about their activities and their contact details.
