A lot of important information – such as forms, your time schedule, the other study programmes offered at Van Hall Larenstein, examinations and teaching regulations and the latest news – is available on Studentnet. When your admittance becomes final, we will send you your HVHL account by e-mail so you can access Studentnet and other facilities.
Your Van Hall Larenstein account
You need to use your HVHL account for several purposes such as: to log on computers, for your webmail and your digital portfolio and to access Blackboard and the SIS. You will have your own HVHL e-mail address. Note that this is the only e-mail address to which Van Hall Larensteins correspondence will be send (after your admittance becomes final).
Webmail and Office 365
Van Hall Larenstein provides you with your personal e-mail account. You can access your e-mail account by going to http://portal.office.com/OLS/MySoftware.aspx. You can log on by using your e-mail address and the password you chose earlier.
At school we use Office 365, which also allows you to use Skype, Onedrive and Office applications.
Moodlerooms is the electronic learning environment for VHL. This is where lecturers post teaching materials and announcements. You can also use it to exchange files with other students.
Studentnet provides general information about programmes and internships, including timetables and course schedules. It can also be used to download many of the forms you will need during your studies.
On Studentnet you can also check your own course schedules and your teachers’ schedules.
Student Information System (SIS)
Van Hall Larenstein uses a Student Information System (SIS). Through your personal SIS, you can upload personal documents, sign up for modules and exams and see your results. It is important to register for modules and exams on time. With your Van Hall Larenstein account, you can log onto the SIS.
Van Hall Larenstein-Student Card
At the beginning of the academic year, we will create your HVHL-Student Card. The card bears your photo (will be taken upon arrival) and your student number, which is your identification number at Van Hall Larenstein. As it is also your entry ticket to VHL’s facilities. You will need it not only to take classes, print, borrow books from our library and take your tests and assessments, but for many other purposes, such as using sports facilities.
Note that your VHL Student Card is for your personal use only!
Once you have completed the full registration procedure, you will receive your Enrolment Certificate by e-mail at the beginning of the academic year. This is your official proof of enrolment. Each year, you will receive a new Enrolment Certificate after completing your enrolment.
E-Wallet is a virtual wallet that you can top up with digital credit and use for a number of services such as printing, copying, etc.
