Van Hall Larenstein and Corona: even now we're here for you
Van Hall Larenstein is keeping a close eye on developments with regard to the coronavirus and is closely following the guidance of the RIVM, the central government, the Municipal Health Service (GGD) and other expert services. Education in period 1 and 2 (until January 2021) is 80% online and 20% on location, in Leeuwarden and Velp. This requires flexibility from the organisation, but great effort has been put into the process.
In short: we will continue behind the scenes and behind screens!
The welfare of our students and staff is paramount. Through emails, webinars, news items and an online Q&A on our internal portal MyHVHL, we will keep everyone as well informed as possible regarding the measures that Van Hall Larenstein is taking to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus. We can imagine that you – as a potential student, parent/guardian of a (potential) student, internship/graduate project company, guest speaker, supplier etc. – may also have questions. We will try to answer them as best we can below.
Are you a prospective student?
If you want to take the step to higher professional education (HBO) next year, you could probably use some help in making your choice of study programme. We are happy to assist you, for example, with various online information activities in which you can participate. More information about the online Prospective Students’ Days, webinars, the online open day and other options can be found at Online help for your choice of study. Of course, you can also simply visit our website:
- Would you like to know more about our degree programmes? Then take a look at our programme selector.
- Do you still have questions about an enrolment? Have you already enrolled but still have a few questions? Then check out the Student Service Center page.
Are you eager to get to know us? Then follow us on Instagram. Our social media student team posts the best stories there! Then you’ll already feel a part of our team. Exceptional circumstances call for a creative approach. And we at Van Hall Larenstein excel at that!
Are you the parent / carer of a prospective student?
We have already outlined a number of alternatives above with which your son or daughter can orient themselves towards an education at Van Hall Larenstein. If you have any other urgent questions, please send an email to email@example.com. We will try to answer them as quickly as possible.
Is your child studying at Van Hall Larenstein?
We try to inform our students as adequately as possible about the measures taken by Van Hall Larenstein. We communicate via emails, news items and an online Q&A on our internal portal. Our study mentors (SLBers) and deans are also on standby to help students with any personal (study) problems that may arise. Your son or daughter can, of course, share this information with you. If you have any other urgent questions, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will try to answer them as quickly as possible.
Will a Van Hall Larenstein student do an internship at your organisation? Or do you mentor a graduate?
Students who are going to do an internship or graduation project are expected to follow the particular company's guidelines. Those guidelines take precedence over Van Hall Larenstein’s. Internships and graduation projects must be able to continue whenever possible. If problems arise due to the measures taken around the coronavirus, our students will contact their supervisors at Van Hall Larenstein. If you have any questions about this, please send an email to email@example.com.
Are you a guest lecturer or speaker for a study programme?
Education is continuing, but remotely whenever possible. This can mean that, as a guest lecturer, you will also teach remotely. Do you already have an appointment? Then please get in touch with your contact person within the university of applied sciences to further coordinate your visit. Some classes may not be able to take place. In such a case, the programme itself will contact you.
Do you have an appointment at one of our locations?
Do you have an in-person appointment? Then check in advance whether it is still on. Most employees now work from home and most appointments have been converted to digital ones. Do you want to make an appointment? Then we suggest you make a digital or phone appointment.
Are you a supplier of the university?
Are you a supplier to Van Hall Larenstein and would you like to make an agreed delivery? That's possible. The buildings in Velp and Leeuwarden are open.
Is your question not listed? Then contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will answer your question as soon as possible.
