Van Hall Larenstein and Corona: we are still here for you
Van Hall Larenstein is keeping a close eye on developments with regard to the coronavirus and is closely following the guidance of the RIVM, the central government, the Municipal Health Service (GGD) and other expert services. As far as the start of the 2020-2021 academic year is concerned, 80% of the education will take place online in periods 1 and 2 (until January 2021) and 20% on location, in Leeuwarden and Velp. This requires flexibility from the organisation, but great effort has been put into the process.
In short: we will continue behind the scenes and behind screens!
The welfare of our students and staff is paramount. Through emails, webinars, news items and an online Q&A on MyHVHL , we will keep them as well informed as possible regarding the measures that Van Hall Larenstein is taking to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus. A special corona info hotline has also been set up that can be reached 24/7 by email and phone.
We can imagine that you – as a potential student, parent/guardian of a (potential) student, internship/graduate project company, guest speaker, supplier etc. – may also have questions. We will try to answer them as best we can below.

Is your child studying at Van Hall Larenstein?
We try to inform our students as adequately as possible about the measures taken by Van Hall Larenstein. We communicate with students through emails, webinars, news items and an online Q&A on our internal portal. Our study mentors (SLBers) and deans are also on standby to help students with any personal (study) problems that may arise. Your son or daughter can, of course, share this information with you. Some of the key lines of communication can also be found on this page. If you have any other urgent questions, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will try to answer them as quickly as possible.
Will a Van Hall Larenstein student do an internship at your organisation? Or do you mentor a graduate?
Students who are going to do an internship or graduation project are expected to follow the particular company's guidelines. Those guidelines take precedence over Van Hall Larenstein’s. Internships and graduation projects must be able to continue whenever possible. If problems arise due to the measures taken around the coronavirus, our students will contact their supervisors at Van Hall Larenstein. If you have any questions about this, please send an email to email@example.com.
Are you a guest lecturer or speaker for a study programme?
Education is continuing, but remotely whenever possible. This can mean that, as a guest lecturer, you will also teach remotely. Do you already have an appointment? Then please get in touch with your contact person within the university of applied sciences to further coordinate your visit. Some classes may not be able to take place. In such a case, the programme itself will contact you.
Do you have an appointment at one of our locations?
Do you have an in-person appointment? Then check in advance whether it is still on. Most employees now work from home and most appointments have been converted to digital ones. Do you want to make an appointment? Then we suggest you make a digital or phone appointment.
Are you a supplier of the university?
Are you a supplier to Van Hall Larenstein and would you like to make an agreed delivery? That's possible. The buildings in Velp and Leeuwarden are open. However, we do have adjusted opening hours: from 7:30 - 17:00.
Is your question not listed? Then contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will answer your question as soon as possible.
