Food and Dairy Applied Research Centre

The mission of the Food and Dairy Applied Research Centre is: To do practice-based research on the sustainable production of healthy food and healthy dairy worldwide.

Research will always be done with extensive knowledge and modern technology in a social context, with special attention to the environment. A circular and inter-/multidisciplinary approach is needed to reach a socially adequate food supply, to which aim several research centres in food, non-food and bio-based solutions will cooperate.

This mission is divided into three lines of research that will be leading in choosing lines of research (professorships) and projects:

  • Product diversification in Human Health and Nutrition (for healthy food and keeping people healthy);
  • The implementation of new information and data technology systems (for more transparence and added value to food production in a social context);
  • Innovations within and about chains (for an efficient use of water and biomass).
