Leeuwarden and the Venue
Registration
Sunday afternoon at the Fries Museum: 17:30 – 20:00 or Monday morning at the main venue location:09:00 – 10:00
At the registration desk you receive your badge and will be asked for your excursion preference (Wednesday afternoon, included)
> If you are presenting, bring your presentation on USB-stick with you to the registration desk at the start of the conference.
Travel information
Public transport
From Schiphol Airport
Take the direct train towards Leeuwarden (once every hour around 30 minutes past, travel time 2h10.)
or the train (once every hour, travel time 2h10) towards Groningen and transfer in Zwolle train station. Access towards the venue can be found on the next page
From Groningen airport
Take the shuttle bus (line 100 or 9) to Groningen train station (30 minutes).
From Groningen train station take the direct train towards Leeuwarden, transfer in Buitenpost to shuttle buses - due to track-works (twice an hour, travel time 30 – 60 minutes).

By car (parking Klaas Hartsweg)
Leeuwarden is easily accessible by car. Travelling from direction Zwolle, take the main road (N32) towards Leeuwarden and take exit Leeuwarden-Zuid.
In Leeuwarden, follow the signs towards Leeuwarden. Turn right towards Centrum/MCL and go straight to follow directions to MCL. Turn left towards MCL and go past the hospital, across the cross-section, the parking is located on your left-hand side.

10 minutes’ walk from Leeuwarden train station.
Exit the train station at the front entrance, cross the main road an walk straight into city center. Across the bridge towards the large open square. Turn right, the museum can be found at the end of this open square.
Monday morning registration & main venue location
Hogeschool VHL University of Applied Sciences (VHL) – Agora 1 (Parking Klaas Hartsweg)
10 minutes’ walk from Leeuwarden train station.
Exit the train station at the rear exit (stairs crossing under train tracks) and turn left. Follow the train tracks up to the road section and turn right. Cross the street next to the pet shop and walk passed a build site towards main road. Cross the road, turn right and directly left to access the university terrain.
