Letter of intent on Partnership with NHL Stenden

15-01-2021

On Wednesday 13 January, Jan van Iersel and Erica Schaper (president of the Executive Board of NHL Stenden) signed an agreement in which they expressed their intention to jointly investigate the areas in which the two universities of applied sciences can work together.

Jan van Iersel: ‘Rooted in the ambitions we have as a university of applied sciences, we wish to expressly explore potential partnerships with various other universities of applied sciences and strengthen ties between them. On 13 January, we signed a letter of intent to examine in which spheres and how we can inform this partnership with NHL Stenden. There are a number of areas where we can find common ground. These include themes surrounding water or sustainable business, or in the field of internationalisation and/or research.

Strategy

We want to proactively examine how we can work more intensively with other universities of applied sciences in the coming years as part of our own branding and positioning. We seek to organise this linkage internationally as well, for instance, in the form of a European University in the INVEST project, of which we are a part.

First step

Taking stock of the possibilities of such a partnership is the first step that NHL Stenden and HVHL University of Applied Sciences (VHL) are undertaking. Not only mutually, but also together with the professional field. The power of both universities of applied sciences lies in each one’s strong link with the world around us.
