'I would like to inspire other young entrepreneurs'
My name is Tran, I am 25 years old and I started International Business in September 2014. I am eager to work in a dynamic and international environment. During my study, I enjoy working with other students from various cultural backgrounds. Studying in an international environment broadens my horizon towards business cultures in various countries. My ambition is to work as a supply chain planner, in the future I would like to inspire other young entrepreneurs to develop a real sustainable business.
International Sustainability Management
I chose International Sustainability Management (ISM) since I am aware that the ‘Sustainability’ aspect becomes more and more essential for our modern life. The minor drives my strong passion for sustainable development in business and I see myself desire to optimise business operation in a sustainable way. First and foremost, my gut feeling told me that I would find who I am and what I want to be in the future through this minor.
I really enjoy my study and I am happy with my choice. I found my true passion and I am enthusiastic every time I can expand my knowledge. In addition, I enhance my organising and planning skills, as well as time management during my study. I have great experiences when I have an opportunity to meet and work with other people who not only come from various cultural backgrounds but also various educational backgrounds. Moreover, it is an interesting challenge working with other people who have completely different ways of thinking from a business point of view. I am eager for Supply Chain Management and fascinated when I can combine my knowledge from other subjects, such as Business and Natural Resources Management to apply for a Sustainable Supply Chain.
I enjoy working with other international students learning from their cultures and enhance my intercultural competence. Studying in an international environment broadens my horizon towards business cultures in various countries. I have developed my professional skills drastically since I study, such as leadership, organising and planning, business communication and more.
I want to develop my career related to supply chain planning and sustainable business development. My ambition is to work as a supply chain planner and optimise supply chain activities, in the future I would like to inspire and train other young entrepreneurs to develop a real sustainable business.
Tips for future students
My tips for future students is that curiosity and open-mindedness are two important characteristics for working in an international environment and, especially in ‘sustainability-related’ topics. Furthermore, being proactive is also vital for this study to organise your study and school projects.
